Hemanth joined the lab in 2018 for the graduate school portion of the MD/PhD program. His research centers on a collaboration with the Weichert group, who have developed a compound called NM600. This agent can be used to selectively deliver radiation therapy to all sites of widely metastatic cancer. He studies the effects of NM600 on immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. He will use this information to determine the optimal way to use this agent in combination with immunotherapy to improve anti-tumor efficacy against prostate cancer.
