Tommaso Tonelli

Tommaso has lived in Madison for most of his life with both his parents being researchers at the UW-Madison, which inspired him to also get involved in research. He spent the entirety of his undergraduate time working in a Biomolecular Laboratory focused on a mRNA binding protein called Bicaudal C, which is critical for organogenesis during embryonic development in vertebrae. Now he has transitioned from basic science research to clinical research with McNeel research group and currently works on evaluating patient samples from ongoing clinical trials in the lab.
